Do I smell something??

Yep, you smell a skunk! That's what Nolen was for his very first Halloween! Nolen hasn't experienced trick-or-treating just yet, we'll try next year. I'm pretty certain he wouldn't have grasped the concept this year anyway. :) We spent the entire day with family. For the first part of the day we went to Kent's sister's in-laws, and the second part of the day was spent at Kent's grandparents'. Nolen had a great day!

Nolen's First Sippy Cup

Oh boy, Oh boy! Nolen loved his sippy cup! I had no clue what type of sippy cup to buy when I got to Wal Mart. Fortunately for me, I picked the right cup for Nolen! Here's proof as to how much Nolen loves his cup!!!!

Back on the Blog Posting Saddle

I know, I know, it's been about 9 months since I last posted. I guess I became addicted to Facebook.

So, Nolen will be 10 months old in just a few weeks! I can't believe how quickly time flies. He is SO much fun. He says "Mama" and "Dada" only when he feels like it. :) He is crawling every where and is very quick. Actually today was the first time he stood up without holding onto anything. I think it shocked him, cause one he realized he wasn't holding onto anything, he quickly grabbed my leg. HA! I have finally had some success with getting Nolen to sleep mostly through the night and to take his naps in his crib. I have been on a long journey to get him to sleep in his crib during nap time and not on me. Don't get me wrong, I love the snuggle time, but I too would like to get something done around the house or take a nap by myself. If you stay up to date with my facebook page, then you haven't missed out on all the cute stuff Nolen does from day to day. :) I'll try to be more diligent with the blog postings.

Nolen attended his very first Bike rally! I think he really liked it! There was so much to look at. Daddy and Nolen were gaga over all the pretty bikes! It's not so much the bikes that I'm interested in, but the people. I'm telling you, if you are into people watching, Bike rallies might be one of the best places!

In love

Can I just tell you how in love I am with my little boy? Every day I grown more amazed with how perfect he is. Kent and I are so blessed to have such a healthy and beautiful boy. Nothing makes me more happy than to see him grow and to watch his little personality develop.

90th percentile

We had our 2 month check up for Nolen. He is in the 90th percentile for his height, weight and head size (he has the watson head for sure! :)). Nolen weights 13.3 pounds and is 23 1/4" tall. He is my big boy! The dr. says everything looks good!

Mnt. Magazine

Kent took Nolen and I to Mnt. Magazine for my birthday. We had a wonderful time even though we were limited to how much "outdoor time" we were able to have because it was very cold outside. We had a great time...the lodge was beautiful.

Nolen

It's been a little while since I posted some pictures of our baby boy. Since the ice storm, we lost all power including our cable and internet so I wasn't able to post, but don't worry, I wasn't sitting at home doing nothing without power! I was playing with my birthday present and took a million pictures of Nolen (pretty much all the same pose, but a million pictues non-the-less :) ). ENJOY!

ICE Storm 09'

As you all know by now we had a major ice storm hit Fayetteville. We were out of power from Tuesday-Friday. Honestly, being without power wasn't that bad because we have a gas heater, gas water heater and a gas stove! We were warm, ate well and could take a hot shower...not too bad huh? :) The bummer deal with this whole event was the destruction on our property. Kent has his work cut out for him over the next few weekends I'm sure. Here are a few pictures of our property.

7 weeks old

Tomorrow Nolen will be 7 weeks old! I can't belive how time flies. He has already brought so much joy to our lives. In Nolen's short life thus far, he has already started smiling, rolling over on his side, and for the first time about a week ago, I saw his first tears. Let me tell you, that totally broke my heart. I cherish the mornings and evenings when he is not eating, sleeping or crying, but when he is totally alert. During those time I just sit and play with him and watch him get his excersise and smile. He is so cute. I love spending every moment with him.

For my birthday last week, Kent and I had Nolen's Grandpa watch him for a couple of hours while we went out to dinner with some friends. I know it may sound funny, but I missed Nolen so much. Even though I spend all day with him, I felt like I was going to miss him do something cute! I told Grandpa that I was jealous of the time he was going to spend with him. I know, I'm a crazy mom now! :)

For my birthday, Kent got me an awesome camera! I have been taking a million pictures of Nolen, but haven't had a chance to go through them and download some. So, I'll be sure to post recent pictures of Nolen very soon.

4 week pictures

I know it has been a while since I have blogged, but having a baby is a big challenge! Of course I love every moment, but boy has our lives changed! I'll blog more later, but I have the opportunity to go to bed now, so I better take advantage of this rare moment! Here are some pictures that Bob Shull (bobshull.com) took of Nolen, our niece and us this past Saturday. Nolen will be 4 weeks old tomorrow!
